Resident Spotlight: Marilyn A.
This month our resident in the spotlight is Marilyn A. Marilyn has been a resident at Regency Park for almost three years now. She said that what she likes the most about being at Regency Park is that she does not have to cook. Marilyn grew up in Jefferson, Scranton and Bagley. She raised four kids on the farm. She now has nine grandkids and two great grandkids. Marilyn loves to sew and make quilts. She use to teach people how to do tailoring. Growing up she wanted to be a farmer. She taught school for a while and then stayed home to raise her family. Marilyn has fond memories of traveling to Wyoming and Germany. She said her greatest challenge in her life was the loss of her husband. She said if she could change one thing in her life it would be to pay more attention to the present and enjoy the present. Her top three life highlights are when she married her husband, the birth of her children and hosting a foreign exchange student. Marilyn says the most important thing she has learned in her life is “You can’t always do what you want, but have patience and you may get to.” Her personal philosophy is “There is certainly a higher being over us.” Please stop out and visit with Marilyn and ask her about her husband children and especially her grandchildren. She is so proud of all of them.
